Alor Akar Seafood Restaurant, Kuantan

Last night we ate out at Alor Akar Seafood Restaurant. It is located just off Jalan Beserah, in Kuantan.

Fidelia's former university classmate was here in Kuantan and invited us out for this meal. It was our first time at Alor Akar Seafood Restaurant, so we had no expectations over the food.

We ordered butter prawns, lemon chicken, sweet and sour fish, and mixed vegetables . . .

Lauren, and Leah pictured here, were a handful!

The food at Alor Akar Seafood Restaurant was delicious!

By the time the sun went down, Alor Akar Seafood Restaurant was packed full with customers. It's a very popular place to eat in Kuantan, with great food at reasonable prices.

  1. Man, you made me hungry! (it's 5.49pm here) But, lemon chicken? That's an odd choice, here, it's seen as the Chinese food a westerner orders, who doesn't know what to order at a Chinese restaurant! Was it a speciality there?

  2. Malaysia is so much like the Philippines save for the difference in religious affiliations.

The seafood looks good. I eat at a place near Manila where you buy the seafood you want and then pick a restaurant to cook it. It's always delicious.

    Thanks for the review.

  3. Wow, the food looks yummy, Duncan! Chinese food is generally nice if the cook knows what to do. I love lemon chicken, sweet and sour fish and butter prawns too, especially if the last is not done too salty or dry. Even the mixed vege looks yummy. Your new camera has down justice to the food!

  4. Have you been to Lila Wadi? It's currently my fav restaurant to go to.. If u ever there, do order their Pandan Cooler drink and their mango cheesecake! They're to die for!

Beside the drink and desserts, I personally loved to order their Steamboat BBQ with Tomyam Soup! I've been there almost every week now.. Just can't get enough of Lila Wadi!

  6. That food looks good. Lemon chicken is one of Mr A's favourites and I have to add that we do have some excellent Chinese restaurants in Leicester - possibly not quite the same style of cooking but close enough, I'd say :-)
